Hike

Discover the area's many trails.  With Newton County being 67% National Forest or National Park Service, we have some of the best hiking around!  You'll see sites such as Hawksbill Crag, the most photographed site in Arkansas, majestic Hemmed-in-Hollow, the tallest waterfall this side of the Rocky Mountains,  the Goat Trail leading to Big Bluff and everyone's favorite:  Lost Valley Trail leading to Eden Falls.

Mountain Springs Cabins are located just minutes (from 1 to 10 miles) from the trailheads of each of these.

Float

With the Buffalo National River being designated America's first National River in 1972 we have world class floating right here in the Ozarks!  ... Bring your canoe or kayak, or rent one for a day from one of the many outfitters like Lost Valley Canoe or Buffalo Outdoor Center!  Optimal floating is Mar-June or any other rainy times.  Check River levels if you're coming to float.

Mountain Springs Cabins are located just 5 miles north of Ponca and the Upper Buffalo River.
